Small Business Innovation R&D Program (SBIR) of the Small and Medium Enterprises Division of the Ministry of Economic Affairs

The Small and Medium Enterprises Division of the Ministry of Economic Affairs held the 454th Guidance Meeting of the "Small Business Innovation R&D Plan (SBIR)" and reviewed and approved 9 technological innovation breakthrough projects, 8 service development and application projects, and a total of 17 innovative technology/service R&D projects proposed by small and medium-sized enterprises. The research and development funds of the project are partially subsidized. The approved list is detailed in the attachment below.

The Small and Medium Enterprises Division of the Ministry of Economic Affairs pointed out that the plan reviewed and approved at the 454th Guidance Meeting also led subsidized manufacturers to invest more than 32.57 million yuan in R&D funds. It is expected to induce small and medium-sized enterprises to invest more R&D manpower and promote the cultivation and research of R&D talents. The accumulation of abilities. The promotion of the SBIR project is to encourage and assist domestic small and medium-sized enterprises to actively invest in innovative research and development, so that small and medium-sized enterprises can operate sustainably, grow and thrive, and establish a complete industrial system through research and development results to promote Taiwan's future economic development.

According to statistics, since the SBIR program was launched in February 1988, a total of 8,823 innovative R&D projects have been implemented, with a government subsidy amount of more than 13.339665 million yuan, and it has driven small and medium-sized enterprises to invest nearly 24.692709 million yuan in R&D funds. It is of considerable help to improve the technical level of China's small and medium-sized enterprises, enhance the competitiveness of China's industries, and upgrade and transform traditional industries.
