Kaohsiung City Aiyi Lions Club vows to join hands with JOIN IT and Gaia Sustainable Farm to build the world’s first net-zero farm

The Kaohsiung Ai-Yi Lions Club announced on the 17th of this month that it will fully support the environmental sustainability development of the Gaea Sustainable Farm. It will combine the strength of businesses to donate a green energy production system and equipment, aiming to become the first internationally certified zero-emission farm. This initiative showcases the Lions Club's commitment to social responsibility and philanthropy, making a substantial contribution to the community and the environment. A joint signing ceremony expressing willingness to contribute to ESG environmental sustainability took place on July 17th during a private-sector collaboration event at the Gaea Sustainable Farm.

The green energy production system generates green energy through solar panels and energy storage cabinets, using renewable energy to achieve energy savings and carbon reduction. The donated items include painted solar panels, explosion-proof energy storage systems, and engineering construction. The appearance of the painted solar panels is impressive, deviating from the traditional flat black solar panels. They are a new technological product from Join IT, a subsidiary of In One Sustainable Technology, called "upright painted solar panels." In addition to their upright installation that won't overshadow crops, these panels contribute to the visual aesthetics of the environment.

The participating private sector enterprises in this collaborative effort, aside from providing painted solar panels, include Dayou Co., Ltd., which offered high-spec explosion-proof energy storage cabinets, and Jusin Energy Co., Ltd., which dispatched a professional construction team to assist with system installation.

Xue Wei-li, President of the Kaohsiung Ai-Yi Lions Club (also Chairman of In One Sustainable Technology), stated, "Fulfilling social responsibility has always been one of the core values of the Ai-Yi Lions Club. We firmly believe that only through the collective efforts of the public can we build a better and more sustainable society." In this era of severe climate change, everyone should be actively involved in efforts to save the environment. Supporting Gaea in its development towards a zero-emission sustainable farm not only reduces reliance on traditional energy sources and lowers carbon footprints but also brings positive impacts to the environment. This initiative aligns with the United Nations' ESG promotion and the Lions Club's commitment to the five major service initiatives, promoting environmental protection and enhancing the international public image of the Kaohsiung Ai-Yi Lions Club.

Yang Xun, CEO of the Gaea Sustainable Farm, expressed heartfelt thanks to the Kaohsiung Ai-Yi Lions Club and participating businesses for their donations. This will provide the farm with more advanced and sustainable energy utilization methods, garnering additional resources and support for the mission and practices of Gaea's Sustainable Action and advancing the ESG sustainable development of the smart farm.

This year marks the inaugural establishment of Lions Club International District 300E-3. Through this Gaea initiative, the Kaohsiung Ai-Yi Lions Club is initiating efforts towards ESG environmental sustainability. It is anticipated that this will serve as a catalyst, inspiring more Lions Clubs and businesses to raise funds and resources collaboratively to create sustainable public welfare initiatives and contribute collectively to the environment and society.
