[Gaia Permaculture Farm] Healing experience of the power of the earth (family friendly)-0801

Gaia Sustainable Farm is Taiwan's first United Nations carbon-neutral farm, striving to become the UN's first certified net-zero farm. Chairman Wei-Li Hsueh of JOIN IT has been actively involved in ESG sustainable development issues. Through serendipity, he became acquainted with GAEA Sustainable Farm and recently donated vertical colorful solar panel technology. He also invited the founder to share and promote this innovation in a forum. Therefore, he hopes that colleagues can respond collectively, and a special experiential trip has been arranged.

The founder of Gaia, Yang Xun, shared an impressive story. Due to his parents leaving the economic system, he moved from Taipei to Lishan with his family, embarking on a journey to develop an organic farm's underground irrigation system. During the development process, he faced challenges such as plant roots damaging underground irrigation pipelines and pests. Traditional drip irrigation systems, like those used in Israel's desert terrain, were not suitable for Taiwan's water quality and organic fertilization principles. Inspired by his studies in the medical laboratory sciences and biomimicry, he created a biomimetic system for underground irrigation, sharing Taiwan's robust organic agricultural technology internationally. Yang Xun, the founder, is truly a "Lee Ang" in the farming industry, persistently pursuing his original intentions despite challenges and has become a shining light in Taiwan.

The on-site experiential activities broadened our horizons. We had hands-on experience making personalized herbal water, moving rhythmically in the herb field, planting organic baby bok choy, and tasting the distinctive flavors of local ingredients for lunch. This experience was not only a leisurely stress relief but also prompted reflections on our lifestyle.
