GL SOFT Ltd assists Make-A-Wish Taiwan in building an APP fundraising and dream-realization platform

The UK-based startup team, GL SOFT Ltd, has expanded its operations to Taiwan with the aim of addressing the needs of children with critical illnesses, their parents, volunteers, and healthcare professionals. Using information technology, GL SOFT Ltd collaborated with the non-profit organization, Make-A-Wish Taiwan, to develop the exclusive "Wish Map App." This app serves as a platform for charitable fundraising and assisting children with illnesses in realizing their dreams. In the future, GL SOFT Ltd intends to replicate this model for various charitable organizations globally, combining technological expertise and fundraising efforts to connect a digital ecosystem for philanthropy, fostering a global "Digital Philanthropy Network."

GL SOFT Ltd participated in the "Innovation for Public Welfare" event organized by the Digital Development Department of the Industrial Development Bureau. The company undertook the development of the "Wish Map App" for the non-profit organization Make-A-Wish Taiwan. On the 24th, a press conference was held to launch the crowdfunding campaign, with the presence of social worker Lin Zhirong from the Kaohsiung office of Make-A-Wish Taiwan and Xue Weili, the president of the International Kaohsiung Love and Benefit Lions Club, who were invited to attend.

With a commitment to advancing industries and promoting sustainable development through cutting-edge technology, GL SOFT actively sponsors various charitable activities and integrates its expertise to fulfill corporate social responsibility.

Zhai Hongfeng pointed out that integrating technology into philanthropy and reducing usage barriers have been ongoing concerns for GL SOFT. By participating in the "Innovation for Public Welfare" event organized by the Digital Development Department of the Industrial Development Bureau, the company took on the development of the "Wish Map App" for the non-profit organization Make-A-Wish Taiwan. This initiative allows GL SOFT to understand the challenges and pain points faced by philanthropic organizations in utilizing digital technology. Through the crowdfunding campaign, it aims to serve as a prototype for "doing philanthropy with digital technology" in the future. This effort also seeks to rally more tech professionals to contribute their expertise to "digital philanthropy," assisting more philanthropic organizations in their technological transformation.

Lin Zhirong, a social worker from Make-A-Wish Taiwan, stated that the organization's mission is to assist critically ill children aged 3 and above but below 18 in Taiwan in fulfilling their life-changing wishes.

He mentioned that in the 29 years since its establishment in Taiwan, the organization has helped realize the wishes of over 2500 critically ill children, instilling a resilient vitality in them. The involvement of healthcare professionals, social workers, volunteers, and sponsors in fulfilling these dreams has also fostered a cycle of positive energy, where those contributing experience happiness through their efforts.

Lin Zhirong pointed out that through collaboration with GL SOFT, they hope to use communication technology to enhance volunteer management, donor management, case management, and other tasks, improving the efficiency and capacity of their services. This, in turn, aims to bring the transformative power of life to more critically ill children and their families.

Xue Weili, the president of the International Kaohsiung Love and Benefit Lions Club, expressed that the Lions Club will leverage its spirit of dedication, calling on fellow Lions to support the fundraising campaign for the "Wish Map App." This showcases the positive impact of the Lions Club on society and their proactive commitment to compassion.

Chen Weinin, the project manager at GL SOFT, mentioned that the collaboration with Make-A-Wish Taiwan for the "Wish Map App" has advanced to the second stage of the competition, being among the selected 50 projects. Adapting to the scoring system of the "Innovation for Public Welfare" event, GL SOFT initiated a crowdfunding campaign for the "Wish Map App" on the ZavBee platform, setting the minimum fundraising amount at 500 NT dollars to encourage more people to participate in casual philanthropy. This initiative aims to support Make-A-Wish Taiwan in improving administrative efficiency and helping more critically ill children fulfill their dreams.

Chen Weinin expressed GL SOFT's hope to replicate the collaboration model of the "Wish Map App" to various philanthropic organizations globally. By combining more technological expertise and fundraising sources, they aim to connect a "Digital Philanthropy Ecosystem," allowing more nonprofit organizations to benefit from digital technology with the support of industry professionals.
