Since May of this year, Taiwan has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, escalating to Level 3 alert nationwide. The fitness industry, with all operations suspended, has faced significant challenges. Amidst industry crises such as market restructuring and rising unemployment rates, professionals in the post-pandemic era are expected to reassess the demand and supply dynamics in the fitness market. In response to these changes, the Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) and the Association for Vocational Education and Innovation (AVEC) hosted the "Post-Pandemic Era in 2021 - Cross-Industry Collaboration Forum on the Grand Health Ecosystem" this morning at the Grand Hyatt Taipei Hotel. The event featured both in-person discussions and simultaneous online streaming, with invitations extended to distinguished guests from various sectors of the health and wellness industry.

The Director of the Department of Commerce at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Su Wen-ling, attended the event, expressing appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the organizers, Chairman Xu Tiancai of CDRI, and Chairman Xue Weili of AVEC. She emphasized the distinctive nature of business and service industries compared to manufacturing. While manufacturing emphasizes the upstream, midstream, and downstream supply chain, cooperation in the service industry is developed through the value chain and ecosystem. The attending businesses at the cross-industry collaboration forum may come from different sectors, but through collaboration, they can spark unique innovations.
The first forum focused on the theme "Taiwan's Post-Pandemic Outlook in the Grand Health Industry." Distinguished guests included Zhang Guojin, General Manager of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Liu Xuteng, Co-founder of Tokuyo, Lin Qunling, Public Relations Director of A.S.O. Corporation, Tang Weizhi, Chairman of Tai Crystal Palace, and Shen Mingzhi, Chief of Dashing Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The discussion delved into the prospects of the health industry. Lin Qunling, PR Director of A.S.O. Corporation, highlighted the collaboration with AVEC, anticipating direct benefits for 2 million members and emphasizing the positive impact of cross-industry cooperation through the smart cloud platform on the health ecosystem. A.S.O. Corporation, in partnership with AVEC, also launched an exclusive co-branded card during the event, opening up new opportunities for market channels.
The theme of the second forum was "Get Moving, New Thinking in Healthy Workplaces for Enterprises." The panel included Hsueh Yaling, Chief of Human Resources at Primax Technology Inc., Hsieh Cheng-Chung, Senior Director of Administration at Avalue Technology, Huang Chih-Yao, CEO of Jiang Hua Educational Foundation and renowned HR expert, Lu Shi-An, Founder of Taiwan's largest HR community, and Huang Yu-Jen, Chief of Human Resources at Sercomm Corporation. In addition to sharing case studies from award-winning companies in sports certification, the discussion focused on how Taiwanese enterprises can create a healthy workplace that addresses the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of employees.
The panel also touched upon the collaborative relationship between the Employee Welfare Commission (福委會) and the "Cloud Smart Tourism Industry Integration Platform." They highlighted the "Full Name Sports Support" initiative, which aligns with the Sports Administration's policies, encouraging enterprises and the public to support sports programs for athletes. Companies and individuals who donate can receive free benefits provided by AVEC, indirectly boosting the economy, driving revenue for the tourism, food and beverage, and retail industries. The discussion concluded with insights from certified sports businesses, aiming to encourage more companies and individuals to embrace an active lifestyle and contribute to creating a healthy Taiwan.
Huang Yu-Jen, Chief of Human Resources at Sercomm Corporation, expressed, "A sustainable enterprise requires healthy employees. Sercomm continues to promote a culture of sports and has hired vitality coaches. Since 2020, we have upgraded our professional gym and basketball court. This year, we have developed a health app for employees, integrating sports and health data. The feedback from employees is practical. Seeing the Cloud Smart Platform provided by AVEC today, it can effectively help small and medium-sized enterprise welfare committees find quality partners and discounts. We hope that in the future, this system can also incorporate 'Employee Psychological Counseling Services' to create a comprehensive physiological and psychological health service."
Hsueh Yaling, Chief of Human Resources at Primax Technology Inc., stated, "Over the past three years, ADLINK has continuously received the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award (TCSA) and the 2020 CommonWealth Magazine Corporate Citizen CSR Award. In 2017, we obtained sports enterprise certification. In terms of employee care, we focus on 'sports and health' as the main theme, emphasizing a balance of physical, mental, and spiritual health. Through the diverse choices provided by the company's seven sports clubs, we promote a culture of sports within the company. In 2019, we implemented the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to address colleagues' psychological health counseling needs." Hsueh Yaling further commented, "Facing the unpredictable changes in the future environment and the new work mode changes post-pandemic, the Human Resources department shoulders greater responsibility to integrate online and offline modes and create a healthy workplace for the enterprise." She also expressed gratitude to the organizers for integrating government and industry resources, facilitating industry information exchange and sharing, and not only focusing on athletes' performance during the Tokyo Olympics but taking concrete actions to participate in and care about sports issues at all times.
