Taiwan's tourism industry faced a severe crisis in May of this year due to the impact of the pandemic. Chairman Xu Tiancai of the Business Development Research Institute attended the "Cross-domain Integration Summit of the Tourism Industry Ecosystem" on the 25th and pointed out how the tourism industry can turn the crisis into an opportunity amid the impact of the pandemic. Xu Tiancai believes that in the unprecedented and challenging environment and time, cross-domain integration and the creation of a new ecosystem are inevitable trends. Guided by the Industrial Bureau, the project "New-type Cloud-based Smart Tourism Industry Integration Platform," undertaken by the Business Development Research Institute, integrates the tourism, accommodation, catering, services, and retail industries. It combines relevant resources and knowledge from industry and academia to establish a global cloud platform for point transactions in the tourism hotel industry, providing effective precision marketing based on the behavior habits and preferences of corporate users, along with a new business model.

To accelerate the rapid recovery of tourism operators in the post-pandemic era, A-SHOE Technology Co., Ltd. and the Association for Vocational Education and Training Innovation and Development (AVEC), in collaboration with the Business Development Research Institute, the Industrial Technology Research Institute, the Central Taiwan Tourism Industry Alliance, and the Taiwan Association of Tourism Factory Promotion, jointly organized the "Cross-domain Integration Summit of the Tourism Industry Ecosystem" on the 25th at the Wan Guo Tong Lu Creative Tourism Factory in Tainan. The summit integrated introductions and shopping experiences from 161 tourism factories nationwide, along with buy-one-get-one-free value promotions. Everyone is welcome to search for and explore tourism factories online.

AVEC Chairman Xue Weili explained that, to help revitalize the tourism industry after the pandemic, the collaboration of four cities aims to jointly promote the recovery of the tourism industry. He believes that this collaboration will synergize with the central government's distribution of the stimulus vouchers, helping businesses seize opportunities and boost revenue in the post-pandemic era. Xue Weili further pointed out that in recent years, the outbreak of the pandemic has accelerated changes in people's lifestyles and consumption habits, shifting from physical consumption to an era of online consumption. Through market-side and demand-side analysis, if the business service industry can establish innovative cross-domain and cross-industry operational models, allowing the data chains of different industries to be instantly shared and circulated through the same platform, understanding the differences in consumption habits among different types of consumers will expand mutual customer bases, thereby stimulating the economy.

The "New-type Cloud-based Smart Tourism Industry Integration Platform" can provide companies with precise marketing through AI analysis of customer profiles, user behavior habits, and preferences. It integrates relevant industry supply chain integration and offers member benefits to drive repeat consumption, achieving economic revitalization. It has already completed member joint cooperation with "A-SHOE" and "World Gym" in August and September of this year, receiving excellent results. In the future, through the integration of virtual and real cross-domains and member guidance, it will contribute to the revitalization of domestic tourism! Regarding the development of Taiwan's service industry, Xu Tiancai believes that Taiwan has been primarily focused on manufacturing in the past. However, given the current global economic structure, if Taiwan can leverage smart cloud technology and innovative thinking, added value will generate higher profits than simple manufacturing. The "New-type Cloud-based Smart Tourism Industry Integration Platform" uses big data calculations to analyze consumers' preferences and the most competitive combination models. He also looks forward to the Business Development Research Institute collaborating with Taiwan's tourism service industry to catch up with advanced countries in the service industry's output.
