Türkiye Taiwan Center does charity and issues charity NFT to help refugees

Central News Agency reporter Jiang Mingyan, Taipei, 5th - The Turkey Taiwan Center joined hands with the Metaverse Business Applications Center today to announce the "Charity NFT" fundraising project, using blockchain technology to integrate charity and philanthropy to assist Syrian refugees in settling and thriving in Turkey.

The Taiwan Reyhanli World Citizen Center (Turkey Taiwan Center) held an exclusive authorization signing ceremony for the charity NFT with the Metaverse Business Applications Center today. In addition to introducing the ESG humanitarian aid system "Turkey Taiwan Center," they further announced the "Charity NFT" fundraising project.

Reyhanli is located in the southeastern border of Turkey and has become the first stop for Syrian refugees to escape the internal conflict. The Turkey Taiwan Center was established in 2017, initially supported by project funds from the United States and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan. Later, it also raised funds on the well-known platform "Zeczec." This year, it received a budget from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and invested in the construction of renewable solar, wind energy systems, and water resource recycling systems, becoming the world's first "100% net-zero carbon" refugee camp.

In addition, by establishing a cooperative of refugee women, the Turkey Taiwan Center assists in promoting and selling local handmade crafts and spices through e-commerce, striving for self-sufficiency and approaching a break-even point, achieving the ideal goal of a social enterprise. These internationally highly regarded charitable initiatives are all orchestrated by Taiwanese architectural scholar Qiu Zhenyu.

Qiu Zhenyu, Chairman of the International Humanitarian Architecture and Education Association and the initiator of the Turkey Taiwan Center, shared the challenging process of rescuing refugee children and building the first shelter at the press conference today. Due to Taiwan's international status, it is more challenging to directly participate in humanitarian aid activities, lacking tools and channels for fundraising. Through the "Charity NFT - Taiwan Center WEB 3 Fundraising Scheme," Taiwan has the opportunity to fully leverage international platforms.

The entity exclusively authorized for the "Taiwan Center" NFT is "Join it Management Consulting Technology Co., Ltd.," a long-term advocate for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Chairman Xue Weili stated that using cutting-edge technology combined with creative charity is the best way to break down international barriers and promote Taiwan's love and care. Each participant will receive a commemorative NFT, and through the tamper-proof technology of blockchain, the Turkey Taiwan Center's entire charity fund execution process will be recorded openly and transparently, gaining the maximum trust of fundraisers and supporting charitable causes.

Zhang Hongtai, Chairman of Hongyi International, who co-founded the Metaverse Business Applications Center, explained that the first event is a significant international public welfare ESG humanitarian aid, and in the future, Hongyi International will collaborate to transform the industry together with digital technology.
