Lighting the flame of local innovation and entrepreneurship, the first Meet Hualien Entrepreneurship Carnival was held

The first Meet Hualien Innovation and Entrepreneurship Carnival opened today (11). With the combined support of Hualien County Government policies and the context of industrial development, this event marks the first collaboration with Taiwan's largest innovation and entrepreneurship community network, Meet Startup Meetup. It brings the innovation summit over the Central Mountain Range to Hualien, igniting the local innovation and entrepreneurship spirit. Taking place on August 11th and 12th, the event focuses on "Organic Innovation X Sustainable Development" and boasts the participation of over 70 domestic and international startup teams. It showcases the best outcomes of public-private collaboration, injecting momentum into the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Hualien County Government Acting Secretary-General Rao Zhong, Legislator Fu Kun-chi, Hualien County Council Vice Speaker Xu Xueyu, and various department heads and council members. Their presence underscored the significance of innovation and entrepreneurship development. The two-day Meet Hualien Innovation and Entrepreneurship Carnival featured over 20 industry leaders from countries such as Japan and South Korea, sharing insights on the global trends in innovation and entrepreneurship. This event aims to unite Hualien with Taiwan and the world in fostering innovation.

Legislator Fu Kun-chi cited successful companies like APPLE and Silks Place Taroko as examples, emphasizing that innovation and entrepreneurship are not recent phenomena but are ingrained in the DNA of businesses. He highlighted that during the most challenging times, innovation becomes a crucial source for corporate transformation. Fu mentioned that apart from creating opportunities for local youth, the government also encourages local young entrepreneurs to explore breakthroughs in familiar fields, bringing fresh vitality to Hualien's local industries.

The two-day event featured the "International Youth Entrepreneurship Forum" and the "Tomorrow Business Forum for Sustainable Growth." Spanning nearly 900 square meters of exhibition space, the Meet Hualien Innovation and Entrepreneurship Carnival highlighted four major industry themes: "Beautiful Life," "Sustainable ESG," "Travel-Creation Workation," and "Digital Innovation." These themes outlined the contours and diversity of local entrepreneurship in Hualien. Additionally, Meet Startup Meetup collaborated with "Pop Up Asia Asian Handicraft Exhibition" and the jointly-created "Style Handicraft Exhibition Area" and "Style Food and Beverage Market" with "Meatless Market." In total, over 70 entrepreneurial teams from both domestic and international origins came together, advocating the conference's main themes and showcasing the diverse local and international aspects of Hualien.

As "Workaction" becomes a viable concept, allowing work to happen concurrently with leisure, the eastern part of Taiwan, separated by the Central Mountain Range, presents numerous advantageous opportunities. The naturally pristine landscapes of Hualien serve as an ideal new base for innovative teams to showcase their talents. In this edition of Meet Hualien, the Joint Innovation Accelerator serves as a partner, bringing startup teams like Ruizhi, Reality Co-Creation, Jishiduo, Tianyan Interactive, Ai Fei's Dog, Chiakou Scientific Research, Toii, Xiongxin Technology, Alien, and Innergy Tech to leverage local resources and empower collaborative new business models through technology. This initiative aims to highlight the sustainability and innovation in Hualien.
