This year, the exhibition welcomed, for the first time, over 38 international startup teams from 10 major cities, including Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, etc., facilitating exchanges among more than 270 startups. Government departments such as the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Bureau of Technology, Taiwan Trade Center, TTA, GreTai Securities Market, and others have supported the event for three consecutive years. Additionally, the Taiwan Stock Exchange and the newly established Green Power Carbon Exchange made their debut.
Mayor Chen Chi-mai mentioned that Kaohsiung has received over 11 billion NT dollars in investments in the past 110 years, making it the best investment destination with central government subsidies. He stated that the Meet Asia 2.0 initiative supports the flourishing startup ecosystem in Kaohsiung and emphasized that Kaohsiung is the optimal starting point for startup companies venturing into the Southeast Asian market.
Mayor Chen also highlighted the city's need to undergo digital and net-zero transformations in response to climate change, describing it as a battle for survival. The establishment of carbon trading platforms and the participation of major enterprises like Chunghwa Telecom, IBM, and SAP strengthen Kaohsiung's green energy, carbon trading, and low-carbon technology ecosystem.
