Since 2017, the Taiwan - Reyhanlı World Citizen Center (Turkish Taiwan Center) has received initial project funding from the United States and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan. Subsequently, it also conducted crowdfunding on the well-known platform "Zeczec." In the current year, the center secured a budget from the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM). This funding has been utilized to establish a refugee camp that is the world's first to achieve "100% net-zero carbon emissions," incorporating renewable solar and wind energy systems, as well as water resource recycling systems.

Additionally, the center established a cooperative for refugee women, allowing local handmade crafts and spices to be promoted and sold through e-commerce. This initiative aims for self-sufficiency, approaching a balance between income and expenses, and embodies the ideal values of a social enterprise. These internationally acclaimed charitable initiatives are all masterminded by Taiwanese architect Qiu Zhenyu, presenting Taiwan to the world from a diverse and innovative perspective.

In the meeting, Qiu Zhenyu, Chairman of the International Humanitarian Architecture and Education Association and the driving force behind the Taiwan-Turkey Center, shared the challenging process of rescuing refugee children and establishing the first shelter. A crucial point highlighted was the lack of fundraising tools and channels, necessitating the collaboration on the "Public Welfare NFT - Taiwan Center WEB 3 Fundraising Plan" with InTogether. This initiative provides a significant opportunity for Taiwan, which faces challenges in directly participating in humanitarian aid activities.

The entity responsible for issuing the NFT is "InTogether Technology Co., Ltd.," a company committed to sustainable development goals (SDGs). Chairman Xue Weili, recently honored with the Good People and Good Deeds Representative Award from Kaohsiung City, emphasized the use of cutting-edge technology combined with creative charity to break down international barriers and promote Taiwan's love and care. The commemorative NFT planned for this project will be distributed for free, allowing anyone concerned about the development of the Taiwan Center or contributing donations to claim it online. Through blockchain technology's tamper-proof features, the execution of charity funds by the Taiwan-Turkey Center will be fully recorded, ensuring transparency at every step and gaining the maximum trust of fundraisers, thereby enhancing the impact of charitable initiatives.

Cooperating in establishing the Metaverse Business Application Center, Chang Hongtai, Chairman of Hongyi International Co., Ltd., expressed joy at inaugurating the venue with a meaningful international public welfare ESG humanitarian aid service event. He envisions using digital technology to transform industries and influence more people to join charitable causes.

This noble endeavor has received commendations from Supervisor Fan Tzu-lu of the Control Yuan National Human Rights Commission. She stated that human rights have no borders, and Taiwan gains international respect by participating in the global defense of human rights. Director-General Gui Yeqin of the Ministry of Culture's Cultural Exchange Department also expressed sentiments, emphasizing the profound cultural exchange demonstrated under the shelter of the Taiwan Center in the midst of humanitarian crises. Legislator Lin Ching-yi praised the Taiwan Center, noting that witnessing young Taiwanese participating in international humanitarian rescue is a rare opportunity in diplomatic history.

Former Rotary International President and the first world Chinese president, Gary Huang, stated that during his tenure, he had the opportunity to visit Turkey, which is 8,000 kilometers away. He highlighted the cultural similarities between Turkey and Taiwan and the active Rotary organizations in both places. The Taiwan Rotary Club, known for its generosity, donates an average of 15 million US dollars annually. Through such emerging mutual aid methods, considerable love and care are extended to local refugees, bringing substantial benefits.

The "Public Welfare NFT" fundraising project is managed by Bifrost, a blockchain consulting firm under the auspices of Tuohuang Capital. It supports the necessary blockchain technology, including smart contracts, for NFT issuance. Leveraging the tamper-proof nature of blockchain technology, the initiative emphasizes safety, transparency, and trust, providing an innovative platform for conveying charitable values. Its applicability in ESG and CSR corporate scenarios is highlighted, welcoming large enterprises and individuals to respond to charitable fundraising and jointly innovate to spread Taiwan's care worldwide.
