Kaohsiung Aiyi Lions Club serves as a daily worker to help people in a vegetative state bathe

Global temperatures have been breaking records frequently, with the first week of July this year being the hottest recorded week on Earth. The weather continues to surge towards extreme heat conditions. Xue Wei-li, Chairman of In Together Sustainable Technology Co., Ltd., recently assumed the position of the 8th President of the Kaohsiung Ai-Yi Lions Club. On July 11, he led Lions Club members as one-day at-home volunteers, collaborating with the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation to provide bath services for bedridden patients, donating relief funds, nutritional supplements, and diapers, offering encouragement to the families of long-term care patients. Additionally, a charity run is scheduled for October 21 to raise awareness and support for the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation's at-home services.

President Xue Wei-li of the Kaohsiung Ai-Yi Lions Club is actively involved in public welfare. He was honored as a representative of good people and deeds in Kaohsiung last year. Recently, he has shown concern for environmental issues and has been a long-time supporter of the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation. Understanding the challenges of caring for bedridden individuals, he led Lions Club members, including the first vice president Dong Jin-liang and Lion Wang Jian-ming, to care for bedridden patients. He also served as a one-day at-home volunteer for the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation, visiting 67-year-old Mr. Tsai, who lives in a corrugated iron house without air conditioning. Mr. Tsai's living conditions and finances are poor, and he has not had a bath in nearly a year due to the hot summer. The volunteers helped Mr. Tsai fulfill his wish for a bath during the sweltering summer.

President Xue Wei-li stated, "Taking a bath may be easy for ordinary people, but for bedridden individuals, it is very challenging. The Genesis Social Welfare Foundation's founder, Mr. Cao Qing, developed the 'original bed bath' technology, allowing bedridden individuals to easily 'bathe in their original beds.' This service helps maintain cleanliness, relax stiff muscles, improve blood circulation, address infection issues, remove accumulated keratin and dirt, restore skin breathing function, reduce lung burden, and avoid the risk of displacement and falls or injury to family members. It is a service worth promoting. The staff worked tirelessly in the high-temperature environment to help bedridden individuals enjoy a clean and comfortable bath, which is truly touching. The Ai-Yi Lions Club upholds the principle of service first and a dedicated spirit of warmth, providing long-term support for public welfare. Wherever there is a need, we will be there, spreading warmth to the corners of society that need it the most."

To raise funds for the at-home services for bedridden individuals, the Kaohsiung Ai-Yi Lions Club will collaborate with In Join it Sustainable Technology Co., Ltd., and the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation to organize the "JOIN IT Love for Yi and Sustainable Charity Run" at Dream Mall in Kaohsiung on October 21, 2023. This event aims to contribute to social responsibility for at-home services for bedridden individuals. Clubs and businesses are welcome to participate. For more information, please contact the Love Line at 07-2612861 ext. 9 (Genesis Run Team) or 02-25222850 (In Together Sustainable Run Team).
